WORDS OF THE AUTHOR

Religion, according to the meaning of such word is, the string or relations that unite man with God, and has as fundamental bases, the existence of God and the immortality of the Soul. And according to the idea that the towns have had of God, the creator , Supreme Being, ruler and caretaker of all the beings of the Universe. This demonstrates the necessity of the religion, that man cannot live without society and the society cannot exist without religion. All the towns have always believed in the necessity of religion and they have practiced it in all the times.

The true religion must be recognizable, because all we have an obligation to embrace it and we cannot embrace it without knowing it. History affirms and test that all the beings, are wild, Barbarian or civilized, in all the times they have believed in the existence of God; dedicating to him to temples, offering to him sacrifices and offerings. Soon the truth of the existence of God is so reasonable, that it has been admitted by all the towns, and in those towns we find the town of the Yoruba, of the African continent. With a great devotion to God and the inmortales Beings, the Saints, and by reasons before indicated. The author of this book intimately related to the feelings of the lucumíes and the Arara, and in addition belong to its Religious Creed, can extract toward the light of Civilization, without mystifications, the truth of the Lucumí religion, of the Yoruba territory.

As author of this book, I want to express more than that of a scientific book, I have wanted to bring to the spirit of the readers, a book that responds to an educative aim; knowing as I know the religious feeling of my compatriots.

I have put the greatest care that the definitions are exact and clear, for the learning of the same one; elevating it to the category of " MANUAL OF ORIHATE ", since these are those that need the vast knowledge of this religion most.
